Yahoo acquires email and contact management startup Xobni.
Xobni (“inbox” spelled backwards), is a San Francisco-based company that specializes in making software applications & services, including products for Microsoft Outlook and mobile devices. Its services can offer “a full view of each contact, complete with their photo, job title, company details, and email history -- as well as updates from Facebook and Twitter.
What do you think of Yahoo's recent acquisition? Do you think it will help the struggling tech giant regain its email and messenger mojo?

Interesting. Seems Yahoo! is really diving into the content creation industry after acquiring Tumblr, Qwiki, and now Xobni. Xobni's clearly focused on email, but no doubt their technology can be used elsewhere.
Now it would be great to see them end their search technology license deal with Microsoft and start bringing their own search tech up to snuff.
Good point Derek. It will be interesting to watch Yahoo over the next few months to see the impact of these recent acquisitions on the direction of the company.
